Acquisition and Selling
We represent clients in the arrangement of discrete private sales transactions as well as public auction. We help them determine and negotiate the most beneficial arrangement for acquiring and selection works on their behalf—whether involving a gallery, auction house, dealer, or another collector. We source works through primary galleries, secondary market dealers, auction houses, private collections, and art fairs and can also make arrangements for commissioned works. We advise on art philanthropy and sponsorship. In each instance, we carefully guide our clients’ privacy and are mindful of exclusivity.
Auction
We represent clients in auctions, including: valuation and market analysis, bidding on client’s behalf to ensure confidentiality, arrangement of private treaty sales and consignment sales, review of auction house fees and commissions, and organizing collection and shipment.
Collection Management
We provide curatorial advice on exhibition loans and cataloguing as well as guidance and resources on conservation and restoration and archival framing, professional installation, object mounting, hanging, and lighting, being mindful of the client’s desires and the relationship between art and its architectural space. We can coordinate worldwide shipping, crating, insurance, import and export licenses, storage, security, and delivery.
Expert Advice from Academic Specialists
Should clients be interested in acquiring works of art of considerable value, and seek advise from senior specialists who have many years of experience, we can get the expert opinion of senior academia from respected institutions in the specific category of art the clients are interested in. The senior specialists, being academics who have no commercial interest and can therefore give objective advice, can give more detailed opinions on the authenticity, context and value of the art works the clients are intending to purchase.
Legal Advice
For established collectors who already have sizable collections, there are many legal questions that arise. This can range from advice on importing art bought from auctions tax-free, to forming foundations that can avail of a number of tax exemptions. Now is affiliated with the Reyno Law offices, and can give expert legal advice.
Documentation, Valuation and Appraisal
We can document important collections, catalogue them, provide data management systems, and appraise the value of each piece, which could be helpful in many ways, including forming a foundation with tax exemptions and assist a family in estate planning with regard to their art collections.
Commissioning Works
Our consultants include some of the best curators in the Philippines, and know all the artists, including those that are in demand at art auctions and fetch very high prices. Working through us, we can arrange for collectors to commission special pieces at much lower costs.
Fee Structure
The client can choose among three types of fee arrangements: Monthly retainer: Now is paid a monthly retainer, and we give monthly presentations to the client, and also contacts them opportunistically when there is art work for which there are many competing buyers. The client will have access to our website, and get exhibit reviews and exclusive previews three times a week.
Project basis: Now helps a client select art for their home, flat, office building, hotel, etc. and is paid based on the scale and budget of the project. We can also offer them a number of other services, from legal, to cataloguing, to feasibility studies (see below). Once we determine the scope of the services required, we can propose a fixed fee for the project.
Specialist opinion: For specific works of value, we can seek senior specialist opinion on the authenticity, quality and value of the art work under consideration. Fees will be flat but based on certain ranges. The senior specialists we are looking to work with have excellent credentials and are truly qualified to evaluate the artwork under examination.
